Loved like never before..

It's been three weeks since I'm back from Malaysia now. Thou I wouldn't say I miss the lifestyle back home, every single time when I think about my trip, I grin from ear to ear. I felt so loved and blessed like never before. Everything about this trip touched me deeply to the bottom of my heart!

'Home Sweet Home'. A simple phrase but have you ever come to understand the significance behind it? I finally came to realized the deep meaning behind this. No matter what, home is definitely a place I find strength, love and courage again. Love and care from parents were overwhelming the whole time. Food that I crave for was always prepared for me. Asking me to have some good rest at home instead of helping them out at shop. Shopping was initiated and paid for. My mum travelled with me for my IELTS test and took care of me the whole journey as if I'm a 12 years old. For the very first time, I had my father waiting for me while I was at hospital for ultra-sound scans. The funniest thing ever was my father kept driving outside the clinic that I was in because he was too shy to let me know that he was worried. :D All my wishes were fulfilled by my lovely parents. What's more to have sincere friends that went extra mile to ensure I have a fantastic trip. These friendships are truly genuine and valuable. Thank you my dear friends.

There's tonnes to share but I am not in a good shape to continue. I am getting emotional here whilst I'm typing this. Time to stop and post up photos. Not much photos was taken due to the superb ugly bangs that I have. Definitely a shame :(

Happy Chinese New Year to ya all..

Another Chinese New Year away from home.. Had no celebration or house-visiting sort of things since we are in Australia which made me upset :S However, being a traditional Chinese, I would never missed the most significant reunion dinner. So, a simple reunion dinner for 9 of us.

Preparation started around 4 in the noon where we had all the washing, cutting or chopping..

They asked if there's anything they could help so I gave them the important task. Make the dumplings!!!

We had dumplings in different shapes as some of them seems fascinated with it..

Apologise to parents..

Once a year Chinese New Year is drawing closer again. Tomorrow evening would be the time for reunion dinner and sunday will be the first day of Chinese New Year.

I was browsing Yahoo News Hong Kong's website and came across all the news regarding cny celebration. My heart felt so heavy at that point. Had a phone conversation with my mum yesterday and we came to the topic of cny. At that very second my heart just sank. I couldn't hold my tears any longer. I felt so badly for not being home with my parents during this important celebration for the second time. I am not fulfilling my filial duty as a daughter to my parents. How could I?

I remember I used to say that being away from home during cny ain't any big deal. Guessed I was wrong. Being away from home, away from parents really open up my eyes to the whole family relationship thing. It draws me closer to my parents, having such great desire wanting to be with my family, realizing how important for a family to be together and also realizing the heartaches my parents had or have having their daughter and son away from them.

Reunion dinner is tomorrow. What would my parents do without me and my brother? Who should they give angpaos to the very first thing on the morning of cny. Dad and mum used to hide angpaos under our pillows before they woke us up and made us look for it. Who will be watching all the cny entertainment shows with mum? Who will light up the fireworks and play with it with dad? So many memories and questions started popping up in my head.

As i'm typing this, my tears are dropping as well. I miss home, terribly. I regretted for not going home when I have the chance. After all, I am still a baby to my parents no matter how old I am.

Happy Birthday to my brother..

November 29 is my beloved brother's special day. Being first time celebrating his birthday away from home, I made him a special birthday cake. Hmm, or i shouldn't even call it a cake..

Picnik collage 2

It's a mini cupcake-sized cheesecake. I prepared this as I know that his friends will definitely get him a cake or two. I'm pretty sure he'll be delighted of not having another birthday cake. So I chose this. As you can see in the picture, I decorated the cheesecake with blackcurrant jam toppings. On top of the toppings, I have some wordings made from icing sugar while the others I used cherries. I din't make the wordings myself. I bought the ready made one from supermarket. Something simple, different and not too much :)

Happy Birthday Jonathan Loh!

Thank YOU for being such a lovable, wonderful and caring brother. Without you, my life is a totally different story and I wouldn't want that. Having you in my life means a complete family, a fun and exciting journey and a never-ending lesson. You have been there for me during difficulties and especially when our parents were mad at me for doing something wrong. You've always backed me up and keep me company. I love fighting or debating with you. I love dancing with you. I love watching movie or tv with you. I love cooking with you. I love sleeping with you. I LOVE YOU!!!

Family ♥

I have always wanted to have a nice family photo. We had a photo shoot last year at studio back at hometown. But i wanted something more natural, something outdoor. So this time, during my parents' trip here last month, we had a family portrait session with our church photographers, HowBoon and Timo. It was fun seeing my parents, my bro and the man trying hard to pose and smile for the photos. Especially the man.. HowBoon have to kept asking him to smile bigger, and he actually trying to make the man smile just like how we always make a baby or a kid smile.. lol, it was hilarious. Anyway, i got part of the photos just then and these are from Timo.. Aww, i cant wait to get those from HowBoon's camera..
