Saturday Feast

Handed in all assignments by Friday. Finally it's time for some relaxing moments and enjoy my saturday without worries and panicking. We started off by watching the movie, Julie and Julia in the morning. We got 2 free tickets from bestie, YL at this cinema situated in Nedlands. When we reached there, we understood why it was mentioned as antique cinema on their website. It was indeed an very old cinema with only 2 cinema halls in there. The ticket booth is just a small booth which can only fits in one person. The cinema hall reminds me of Malaysia's cinema. The designs, the seatings, the chair, the screen and the exit. Everything is so much alike as Malaysia's cinema, Star Cineplex if I remember correctly. There's less than 20 people watching the movie including us and most of them are old folks. But I think it's good as we get to sit freely and you wont have the problem of people making lots if noise when you're concentrating on the movie. :)

The movie was good but not too good to me. I thought there will be more food and recipes. Towards the end, when it's about how they become the writer and the cookbook finally got publish, I almost fell asleep. I was striving to keep my eyes open. lol. After movie, we went for lunch at The Walk Cafe at Subiaco. It's a small cafe located in all of the alleys. I accidentally discoved it the last time when i went shopping with friends at Subi. I like the atmosphere and the food at the cafe. I had my favourite turkish bread with latte and soy milk. Yumm..Went home after lunch to take a rest and watched movie 'The Ugly Truth'.

Around 6.30pm, we left home to go for dinner at Kanta restaurant. I have been craving for Japanese food for the past few weeks. Time to satisfy my tummy :) We ordered lots of food that night. Before we had our entrees, they served us each a small plate of thin noodles.

P1040130

All together we ordered 6 entrees.

P1040134

My gyu-tataki, slices of beef with thin shreds of onion together with ponzu sauce which is not in the photo. I don't like raw food so it's hard to tell if it taste good. Even thou it's seared at the side. But the bf liked it.

P1040135

Rhianoon's Miso Soup.

P1040137

The bf and Michael had this for their entree. Both of them are crazy in love with this. I gave it a try and for once, I think raw beef is really nice. The raw beef is marinated with sesame oil. It was sweet in taste because of the thin apple slices underneath the raw beef.

P1040138

Rhiannon's chicken karaage. It was so so good. It's different from those we normally had at japanese restaurant. It not too oily yet there's enough fat in the chicken to make it taste wicked.

P1040140

I had chawanmushi after my beef slices. Haven't had one in ages. But I don't like the idea of having fish fillet in the steamed egg. Not so nice.

P1040142

My main. The eel was really fresh and the sauce was just nice. Because sometimes I find the sauce a bit too sweet when I had it at other japanese restaurants.

P1040147

Rhiannon's Chicken Katsu. It's good as well. The skin is really crispy but the meat wasn't too dry. P1040148

And this is the best!! Too bad this photo is blur and it's the only photo I took. The beef was so yummy. It was perfectly cooked. The meat is so tender and when you bite it, you can feel the juices in it. The sauce was awesome too. The portion is not enough for the bf. He was still hungry after that.

I ordered green tea ice-cream for dessert but I forgot to take a photo of it. It was served with lil bit of red-bean paste on top of it. It was good but I personally prefer a bitter taste green tea ice-cream. After dinner, we went for coffee at 44 King St Cafe in King St. A nice place for coffee and chatting session. I think this the place that me & bf visited the most. YL and Adam joined us after their dinner. We had some dessert as well. Lol.

P1040149

Rhiannon and her dessert. I'm not very sure what was it. All I know is it's chocolate cake topped with chocolate sauce and meringue.

P1040150

The bf and I had this. It's something special to me. Never had a baklava before. For those who don't know what baklava is, it is a Near Eastern pastry made of many layers of paper-thin dough with a filling of ground nuts, baked and then drenched in a syrup of honey and sometimes rosewater. But I don't really like it, probably just this one. I found it too hard to even cut it. The toffee ice-cream was good thou.

Now you'll understand why I put Saturday Feast as my title. Basically it's food and food all day. May not appear a lot to you but for those who knows me, it's A LOT!!! lol.

Gotta get back to revision now. Exams in one week time. Can't wait to get it over with. Have a great week ahead.

Black Monday

It was the worst monday ever. Many things were screwed up and I was very near to throwing my tantrum. Luckily I was managed to hold it, trying hard to digest it and in the end I was just showing the unfriendly face occasionally.

I woke up with feeling extremely unwell. I think it has something to do with my medication which I have been taking for a week. I feel so weak and got tired easily. Dizziness and headache were like bees sticking to honey, following me the whole day. I actually woke up at 9 in the morning but took a nap after breakfast because I couldn't fight the dizziness. Woke up an hour and a half later, drove for 20 minutes, took another nap again before I got woke up by a phone call. It's from my groupmate. At the very last minutes,2 hours away from presentation, she told me the slides weren't ready yet. I was shocked and got so pissed off that I hang up before she could say 'goodbye hun'. Our house was having blackout at that moment and I couldn't get access to internet. The only way is to go over to uni and get it done. Got myself ready in dark and can't really figure out what I was doing. Head to uni, searched for parking which I hate the most, searched for available computer which annoyed me every single time, before I could settled down, it was one hour away from the actual thing. Rushed to get the work done and only had a bottle of coke and M&Ms as my lunch. Was supposed to have a rehearsal before we go for the real thing. Who knew out of 5 of us, only myself and another girl were prepared for it. The others were kind of clueless about it and only wrote their script half an hour away from the presentation. As you can guess, we got no time for rehearsal and went on stage, did the lousiest job ever. Gahhhh..I almost went crazy at that minute itself.

I left right after the presentation, trying to sort out another assignment. And again, problems kept popping up. Usually, I wouldn't mind fixing all these. But definitely not when I was feeling extremely uneasy and was kind of starving. Stayed in uni until 6ish, went back home to get a quick shower, managed to get the electricity back ( by turning on and off with the main switch, must be the roadwork near my house this morning that affected it) and head out to bf's coussie place for dinner with his family and coussies. It was a long dinner with more than 30 people. We had steamboat. I felt quite bad as I wasn't feeling well thus I was showing quite a bit of the unfriendly face. The bf was being nice, pampering me, kept me company, talked to me and hugged me tight. And I being the bad one complaint about him being not sensitive enough :P. Sorry bf :)

Just got home around 12 just then and immediately knocked on housemate's door and then the crying and complaining drama started. CY said I looked like a small bird making noise in the loud and high-pitch way. lol.. Thank you girl for listening to me and also Sarah, DY and YL for keeping me company through sms during the time at bf's coussie place. I was kind of lost as I don't understand Hokkien!!!!!!!! It's irritating!!!!!!! Gosh...

Now I'm sitting in front of my lappie (obviously), having a glass of coke and going to watch a movie to pamper myself for a bit. I need it before I go crazy again. Coke is like my medecine. Well, at least Im smiling now..That's the story of my black monday. Time for movie. Nitess.. :)

Random I know.. it's just been quite a while since I last taken a decent self-photo..

Congratulations to my man

It's the man's convocation today. Other than him and also my bestie, Adam, I've got quite a few friends graduating on the same day as well. Went for the ceremony with his parents and his sis. Again, it's boring. Luckily, this year's ceremony is shorter than the one that I attended previously. At least I din't feel asleep during the ceremony. But the man actually did fell asleep himself. lol. One disappointment is that there's no any fireworks this time round. :( It used to be something I look forward to..

A pass to the ceremony. Guess how much it worth? Near to 40aud for one tix. Bet they're earning heaps from convo alone.
The look of the hall.. The stage is where those chancellor, guest speakers, professors or distinguished staff are seated while at the front part is where the graduates are seated.
My uni..
Adam & my man.. Pink for business & yellow for engineering. Adam receiving his certificate from the chancellor.
with the man's family.. His dad was so happy for him that he gave him a big tight hug right after the ceremony.
Dear Shirlene is graduating on the same day too..
My way of expressing congratulations to her.. :D
My man..

Congratulation my man. I'm really happy and proud of you. I've seen how much hard work and efforts you put in through this long and challenging journey. It was tough yet you never give up. Your achievement is awesome. Now you're officially an engineer and stepping into another chapter of your life. May you earn big bucks and achieve your dreams real soon. I love you and think you're the very best

End of September

September passed incredibly fast. Kinda hard to believe that it's October now.. Gahh, that means exam is coming real soon and I still have a few assignments in hand. Giving myself the excuse of distressing, I had a few outings to so call release stress. The man did a great job in helping me to deal with my 'stress'.

We had seafood for dinner during the weekend.
Prawns with Aioli sauce, Chili Mussels, Salmon and...
Squid Ink Pasta with of cos squid and also scallops.
I love the prawns not only of the taste.. mainly because the man actually peeled the prawn for me!! At first, i was kinda reluctant to eat it because i don't really like peeling the prawn and get my hands dirty. Hee..I'm a spoiled girl I know. Always have parents to do it for me :P

On a Saturday night, I went for drinks with friends at Minq Bar, Burswood. Haven't hang out with the girls for quite a while :)
Mua and Sarah in the car while waiting for YiWen. Poor Sarah got an eye infection that day.
Mua..
Chloe, Sarah, Mua & YiWen
and we bumped into Christina..
myself & Christina
Sarah, myself & YiWen.. Sarah had to do some diff pose so that her photo won't really show her eye infection.
Andy & me
me & my clubbing kaki..
Something that we'll never miss out. Cam-whoring..
Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil
The couple which celebrated their one year anniversary on that day.
Posing with our cocktail..
Us on the couch. And we actually got told off and asked to step down from the couch. :P

I think I'm getting better with my alcohol tolerance now. I used to get drunk really easily. You wouldn't believe the amount of alcohol that I can take. It's like one glass of wine and I'm down. But, I'm getting better now..teehee

Time to get back to assignmentssss.. Gotta get things done so I can enjoy the man's big day tomorrow. It's his graduation day and he got me a ticket to be in the ceremony. Thou it's gonna be extremely boring, guess my presence means a lot to him :) Aight, toodles..

Nothing but Awesomeness

Since the last time I blogged, my days were actually really good despite all the assignments and stress that I've put myself into. Let's see what I've been doing :)

Andrew's pre-bday celebration and also a catch up session since the Pretty Boy is in town. Pretty Boy is the one with spiky hair in the picture above.

A coffee session with my luckystar, JiaHuei which we saw these absolute beautiful double rainbows on our way back home.

My most sinful cravings - Ferrero Rondnoir. Dark chocolate version of Ferrero Rocher. Yumms..

And of cos, the awesome weekend with the man. Always glad to have you to hear me out when I'm so full of stress that I'm gonna explode like a volcano soon. winks.

Not forget to mention, dance practises for Search For A Star 09'. It's our church annual thing. Something like a talent show where our church members will be on stage showing our talents to our family and freinds. It's kind of like the huge thing for our church. Everyone is working crazily hard, putting in utmost effort to make it awesome. With all the hours spending on practising and perfections, all the bruises all over our bodies, all the lack-of-rest-soon-to-be-vampire looks', im sure everyone had fun or am having fun seeing each other so often and get to dance together. I'm pretty sure we're gonna rock again, or even better than last year.

Search For A Star poster. It's on this saturday. Can't wait!!

Aight, that's all for now.. Gotta get back to work. Assignments and presentation on their ways :/

M vs F

Just then, when i was reading Kim Ong's blog, she mentioned about KennySia attended her wedding after a 12km run, it somehow led me to my curiosity and checkout Kenny's blog. Click on the blog link and read it yourself. I couldn't help but laughing out loud and i think i was laughing for more than 15 mins.

Kenny said "If there's one thing I learn about girls after all these while, it's that the female species need a lot of attention. If you wanna give attention to girls, you gotta devote time. But here's the kicker. Once you're invested all your time, successfully got the girl and officially declare that you are "in a relationship", suddenly you have to face fights and arguments and all those petty things that would take up even MORE of your time. Then suddenly you are forced to give up time on your career or hobby. And you find yourself having to spend ALL your time on your girl to make them feel more secure. Because if not then your girlfriend's girlfriends will say that you are "useless", "heartless", "not caring enough" and then advise her to leave you for a better man."

Lol..but it's quite true thou..

Then Kenny said again ' Maybe I just need the type of girl who doesn't require attention, only required to meet up once a week and can simply abandon anytime when my job gets the better of me. Does this species of female exist?'

Hahahahahahahahahahaha...

But this is not the funniest part.. Check out the comments by his readers.. It was seriously hilarious. There's even girls that trying to promote themselves and ask Kenny to choose them as gf. Then there's people debating whether girls are such attention seeker or guys just don't understand girls. There's also people trying to advise Kenny about LOVE!!!

Hahahaha..

I find it funny not because i was laughing at any of them. Nah. It's because it's something I've always know yet the way they put it into words caught my attention and appeared humourous to me. Guys & girls. Females & Males. I used to debate so much on this topic alone but now i find it pointless. Actions speak louder than words! :) Anyway, I had a good laugh. So thanks to Kenny and his readers. :D

Btw, I was preparing my dinner just then. I know it sounds weird but I felt like having toast and omelets for dinner. So off i went to prepare it. But......... i failed the omelets. Not the taste, it's the shape. Or i should say it wasn't in shape at all. Looks more like scrambled eggs. Haa.. I think I have neglected my cooking skill for quite some time. Time to pick it up again. But, it feels so good having a bf cooking for me :p

Last friday, he cooked again. Invited YL & Adam over to tryout his cooking.. All good except the dessert. lol. Sorry Babe :P Here's some snaps of his cooking.

Look at his arm..It's double the size of my arm!!

The soup taste so so good.. I'm so proud of him :)

I only have these in my camera. Din't take much as Adam brought his DSLR over. I'll post up the rest of the food once I got it from Adam :)
